Regulatory Database
China CosIng is a free Chinese cosmetic ingredient regulatory database developed by CIRS that allows you to quickly search whether a cosmetic ingredient or substance is listed in the latest version of the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients in China (IECIC 2021 edition) and whether it is restricted or prohibited in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market.
The following regulatory lists are included in China CosIng. You can search the database by CAS No., INCI name or Chinese name. CIRS regularly updates the database to keep it up to date.
Any cosmetic ingredient which is not listed on IECIC will be regarded as a new cosmetic ingredient in China and must be notified or registered before they can be used in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market.
These chemical substances are prohibited in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market.
These plant-derived and animal-derived cosmetic ingredients are prohibited in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market.
These cosmetic ingredients can be used in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market provided that they meet relevant restriction requirements (content limit and/or additional labelling requirements).
Only listed colorants can be used in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market and they must meet relevant use restriction requirements (use scope, content limit and/or additional labelling requirements).
Only listed preservatives can be used in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market and they must meet relevant use restriction requirements (use scope, content limit and/or additional labelling requirements).
Only listed UV filters can be used in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market and they must meet relevant use restriction requirements (use scope, content limit and/or additional labelling requirements).
Only listed hair dyes can be used in cosmetic products placed on Chinese market and they must meet relevant use restriction requirements (use scope, content limit and/or additional labelling requirements).
Cosmetic ingredients which are not listed on IECSC may require new chemical substance notification/registration before they can be produced in or imported into China.
